About.
Consulting detective renowned for his powers of deduction, logic, and innovation in the forensic sciences. His exploits are recorded by his flatmate/foster daughter, Iris Wilson and are serialized in Randst Magazine.
Unlike his Conan Doyle counterpart, Sholmes' famous deductions don't always hit their mark.
First impressions.
Visual. Sholmes has all of the typical trappings of his classical counterpart--deerstalker cap, overcoat and pipe--with an added assortment of steampunk-esque accoutrements.
Demeanor.Eccentric, nosy, dramatic, and confidently incorrect (when he's not stating the obvious.) However, given the right circumstances, a more serious Sholmes may manifest.

PHYSICAL AFFECTION. Sure. Lay it on him.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE. Down for mild, canon-typical violence.
ROMANCE. Given Sholmes' nature (forgetful, whimsical, occasionally histrionic), attempted relationships could be ... trying. If it comes up, I prefer to write within the approximate tone and "rating" of the source material. Note: No characters under 25, unless you want a gentle IC rejection.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS. Mild Victorian ignorance?

THREADHOPPING. Ask first.
FOURTHWALLING. Happy to roll with it. On a meta level, I'm also fine with some Sholmes vs. Legit Holmes shenanigans, either the character himself or people recognizing him as the literary figure.
FORMATTING. I'm flexible, but prefer prose for involved threads, brackets for casual threads. I default to present tense, but past is also fine.

- Japan Trip: Sholmes takes that promised trip to Japan. Slice of life sightseeing, solving a crime, etc?
- Uncle Reaper: He probably feels for van Zieks and wants to keep him connected with his niece somehow. Practically speaking, he'd also love to have the cushion of the van Zieks estate to keep Iris
fedhappy and idk, to fund her second PhD. - Mentor Mode: Anything that has him advising his younger associates (Gina!!)
- Dad Mode: Iris bonding time. The strange day-to-day on Baker Street? Having the Hard Conversations? Idk, but I'm here for it.
- Dad Mode Bonus: Sholmes and Yujin sharing fatherly wisdom and/or insisting they didn't completely fuck up as dads.
- Sparring/training: Fisticuffs? Teach him the feared Susato Takedown? Swordplay?
- Shipping: Tbh I don't have any Sholmes ships I'm really hankering for, but I'm always down to see where things go (with age-appropriate characters of whatever gender identity). I think of him being a fairly ~bohemian~ when it comes to romance. Very "on again, off again." Also, probably given to a bit of flirting, treating it a bit like a game. Otherwise he pours most of his effort into his platonic relationships. And his work, duh.
Cross-Canon:
- For more involved threads, I'd generally prefer compatible canons/time periods, but AUs aren't strictly out of the question.
- Goes without saying, I'm down for stuff that revolves around mysteries, crimes, etc.
- Sholmes is a bit more of a big softy than Doyle's Holmes; he's happy to help those in need, act as a protector or mentor to younger folks, etc.
